Privacy Policy

The short version. Your saved messages, your settings, and your
chosen look all stay on your device. We don't ask for your name or email, there are no
accounts, and we never sell your data or use it to advertise to you. The app sends a
small amount of anonymous usage data so we can tell which messages people keep.
Who we are
Mochi Heartline is made by PTK Studio. This policy covers the Mochi Heartline iOS app
and this page. If anything here is unclear, write to
hello@ptk-studio.com and we'll answer plainly.
What stays on your device
The things that feel personal never leave your phone:
- The messages you keep, and when you kept them.
- Which messages you've already been shown.
- Your settings — sounds, haptics, and the experience (theme) you picked.
These live in the app's own storage on your device and in its home-screen widget.
We have no copy of them, and we cannot read them. Deleting the app deletes them.
What we collect
The app sends anonymous product-usage events to Firebase Analytics, our analytics
provider, so we can understand which content and features are worth making more of.
Specifically:
- A random install identifier. Firebase gives this installation a random
number of its own and keeps it on your device. It is not your Apple ID, not your advertising
identifier, and not tied to anything that identifies you. It exists only so that two events
from the same phone can be recognised as related. Deleting the app discards it.
- Product interaction events. Which screens you open, when a message
is shown, saved, unsaved, or shared, and which experience or content preference you
choose. Events record the message's ID and tone — not anything you wrote, because the
app has no place to write anything.
- Basic technical information that comes with any internet request,
including your IP address, device model, and OS version. Firebase uses the IP address to
infer a coarse region (such as a country) and does not expose your precise location to us.
It also records whether the app was a development build or a released one, which is about
the build rather than about you.
Analytics went to Statsig until an earlier version and now go to Firebase. What is sent is
the same; the random install identifier is now Firebase’s rather than one the app made
for itself.
What we never collect
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account — there is no sign-up.
- Your contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, or camera.
- Precise location.
- Your advertising identifier. The app does not ask to track you across other
companies' apps and websites, so you will never see an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
How your information is used
Only to run and improve the app: to see which messages resonate, which experiences
people choose, and whether a feature is worth keeping. That's the whole list.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with data brokers. We do not use it for
advertising, and there are no ads in the app.
Who else touches it
One provider: Firebase,
a Google service, which processes the anonymous usage events described above on our behalf.
If you send us feedback through the in-app form, that form is hosted by Google Forms and we
receive whatever you choose to type into it.
How long we keep it
Anonymous usage events are retained by our analytics provider on a rolling basis and
are deleted in the ordinary course. Because the events carry no identifying information,
we generally cannot connect them back to a person.
Your choices and rights
- Stop the collection entirely by deleting the app. The install
identifier is stored on your device, so removing the app ends the link for good.
- Ask us questions, or ask us to delete something, by writing to
hello@ptk-studio.com. Depending on where you
live you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to
object to its processing. We honour those requests regardless of where you live. Please
tell us enough for us to find the data — for anonymous analytics that is often not
possible, and we'll say so honestly rather than pretend otherwise.
Children
Mochi Heartline is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal
information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
