Mochi QuestPop
The questions that come up most. If yours isn’t here, the email address is at the bottom and a person reads it.
Someone sent me a code. Where does it go?
Open Explore and tap the # button at the top right. Codes are six characters and the dash is only there to make them easier to read aloud — you can type it or leave it out. If the quest is private rather than just unlisted, you will need to sign in with the account it was shared with.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Public quests open straight away and your progress is kept without you registering for anything. You only need to sign in to make a quest, to share one, or to open a private quest that was addressed to you specifically.
I signed in and my progress disappeared.
That happens when the Google account you chose already had a QuestPop account of its own. Rather than merge two people’s data, the app signs you into the existing one and tells you so. If you meant to keep the guest progress, sign out, and it will be waiting under the guest account you were using before.
The next stage is locked and I finished the last one.
Either it opens on a date — the screen tells you which — or the person who made it releases stages by hand and has not released that one yet. Countdown quests are the common case: one short stage a morning, and the app will remind you if you let it.
I am sure my answer is right.
Riddle answers forgive capitals, spacing, accents and punctuation, so that is rarely it. Word locks have to be exactly the right number of letters. Hidden-object puzzles need every object found, not just one. If you still think the quest is wrong, report it from the menu on the quest page — that reaches us, not the creator.
I can’t aim at the picture, or I’m using VoiceOver.
Every puzzle has a way through that does not need a steady hand. Hidden-object puzzles have Find by name instead, which lists what you are looking for. Scratch panels have Reveal all. Lock wheels have buttons as well as drag, and work with VoiceOver’s adjustable gesture. Ordering puzzles have move-up and move-down. None of these count as cheating and none of them cost you anything.
How long does it take to make one?
Twenty minutes for something good, less if you start from a template. Pick a template in Create, change the words, and set the answers. The app saves as you go and nothing is visible to anyone until you publish.
It won’t let me publish.
The publish step lists what is missing and each item takes you to the screen that fixes it. The usual culprits are a stage with no puzzles, a scheduled quest with a stage that has no date, and a word-lock answer that is not the length of the wheels.
Can I see it the way they will?
Yes — Preview plays your draft, and you can switch it between phone, wide and large-text presentations. Worth doing before you send it, especially the large-text one.
Who can play what I made?
Your choice. Public is discoverable by anyone. Unlisted needs the code or the link. Private is only the people you name, and is the right answer for anything personal.
Can I put a gift card at the end?
Only one you already own, only on a private quest, and only addressed to one person. QuestPop does not sell gift cards and cannot check whether a card still has a balance — verify it yourself before you attach it. The code is encrypted when you add it, which means we cannot show it back to you afterwards; you will only see the last four characters.
I published something by mistake.
Open the quest and take it down from the menu. It stops being playable straight away.
Why is the notification so vague?
Deliberately. “Your next QuestPop stage is ready” gives nothing away to whoever is looking at the lock screen, which matters when the quest is a surprise. You can turn quest titles on in Settings if you would rather see them.
Does it know where I am?
No. The app does not use location services. A quest can tell you to walk somewhere and ask what you found when you get there, but the app is not watching.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Delete account. It removes your profile, your progress, and every quest you made — including for anyone part way through one of them. It cannot be undone. The privacy policy says exactly what goes and what stays.
Email hello@ptk-studio.com — tell us your iPhone model and iOS version if something is broken, and what the app did versus what you expected. If a particular quest is the problem, its title and which stage you were on is enough for us to find it.
