Mochi Snore

You don't know what you sound like asleep.

Leave the phone on the nightstand and tap start. In the morning Snore tells you how much you snored, how loud, and when — and lets you play any of it back. One tap before bed, no account, nothing to configure.

What it is

What it isn't

Snore is not a medical device. It counts and measures snoring; it does not diagnose anything and it does not detect sleep apnoea. Loud, frequent snoring with pauses in breathing can be a sign of it, and that is worth raising with a doctor rather than with an app. The app says the same thing in its own Settings screen rather than only here.

Where the recordings go

Nowhere. Audio stays in the app, is excluded from iCloud backup, and is deleted with the night it belongs to. There is no account, no sharing and no ads. The app does report anonymous usage counts — how many snores a night had, how long it ran, which parts of the app were used — and with no account there is nothing for them to be attached to. The privacy policy sets all of it out.
