It plans the days — what to see and when, how long to allow, roughly what it costs, and where to eat. Each day stays in one neighbourhood, so you're not crossing the city twice to see two things.
There is no account and no sign-up — you open the app and start. Itineraries are written by a hosted model, so Trip needs a network connection, and what you enter is sent to that model to produce the plan. The privacy policy says exactly what that means.
